Oliver's Story
Age 14
I was bullied in my last school and I didn’t want to make new friends in case it happened again so I was spending break times and lunch on my own.
The pastoral worker noticed and tried to help me make friends by inviting me to a lunch group. I liked it at first but then started to become scared again so she asked if I would like to speak to a counsellor. When I first met him I was a bit quiet but he seemed ok and had some cool stuff to use in the sessions. After a few times I started to talk to him about the bullying, it really helped me feel less worried about other people. I used all sorts of creative things to talk about my feelings and he sent me little bits of challenges to do for the next time I would see him. It helped me try new things that I wouldn’t normally do and I realised I don’t need to be as scared as I used to be.
I now have two friends at school and I have started to go outside at break times, it feels great.
