I was asked if I would like to see a counsellor by my doctor because I was worrying all the time and it made me have feelings around not wanting to be alive anymore. I agreed to go and I’m glad I did. The counsellor was really nice and helped me a lot.
I worried about going to school, catching the bus and what everyone thought of me. I talked to her about all this and she helped me find ways to cope when the worries and thoughts felt really big. We did some tasks on how to cope on the bus and when I was in school. I started to feel a bit better because she understood me and took the time to actually listen to me. I can now catch the bus into school without the worry feeling too big to manage and I don’t have any dark thoughts anymore.
I feel better in myself and I can manage my feelings better, I’m more in control.
